Description
Product Overview: Bently Nevada 146031-01 Transient Data Interface (TDI)
The 146031-01 is a Transient Data Interface I/O Module developed by Bently Nevada. It is a component of the 3500/22M system, specifically a 10Base-T/100Base-TX I/O Module. The TDI facilitates the connection between the 3500 monitoring systems and Bently Nevada’s System 1 Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic software and 3500 System Configuration software.
Functional Description:
Core Functionality:
- The TDI is equipped with a built-in static data capturing feature.
- An optional Channel Enabling Disk allows the TDI to record dynamic and high-resolution transient data.
- The 3500 rack houses the communication processing function for the TDI.
Integration and Connectivity:
- The 3500/22M Series Transient Data Interfaces connect the 3500 monitoring system to Bently Nevada’s System 1 machinery management software.
- The TDI combines the functionality of a 3500/20 Rack Interface Module (RIM) with the data collection capabilities of a communication processor like TDXnet.
- Operates within the RIM slot of a 3500 rack alongside the M series monitors (e.g., 3500/40M, 3500/42M), continuously capturing steady-state and transient waveform data.
- Data is transmitted to the host software via an Ethernet link.
- By default, the TDI captures static data, but the installation of an extra Channel Enabling Disk enables recording of dynamic or transient data.
Enhancements and Redundancy:
- Enhances several areas over prior communication processors.
- Performs certain functions shared by the entire rack but is not part of the critical monitoring channel, thus not affecting the overall monitor system’s correct and normal performance.
- Each rack requires one TDI or RIM; the TDI occupies only one slot and is always located in Slot 1 (next to the power supplies).
TMR Applications:
- For Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, the 3500 System requires a TMR version of the TDI.
- The TMR TDI performs “monitor channel comparison” in addition to all standard TDI functionalities.
- Enables monitoring voting through the 3500 TMR configuration, comparing the outputs of three redundant monitors in real-time.
- Flags any monitor whose output deviates beyond a specified percentage from the others and records an event in the System Event List.
Key Features:
- Integration: Combines the functionalities of the 3500 Monitoring System and the System 1 Machinery Management Software.
- Combined Capabilities: Integrates the 3500/20 RIM functionality with a communication processor.
- Synergy with M Series Monitors: Operates seamlessly with the M Series Monitors.
