• The DC power to the rack can enter the sub-rack via the DC Input Card.
• Users can supply this power from an external nominal 24V DC supply.
• The DC supply is routed through the Engineering Card and the sub-rack backplane, distributing it to all cards within the rack.
• A fuse on the DC Input Card protects the power supply.
• For installations with more than eight 5704 Catalytic Cards, it’s recommended to power the Control Cards via their associated Quad Relay Interface Card, using the DC Input Card solely for powering the Engineering Card.
• If needed, a standby backup battery supply can be connected to the auxiliary DC input connections.
• The PSU (power supply unit) and AUX connections are isolated from each other by diodes.
• The DC Input Card also provides RFI (radio frequency interference) filtering and reverse polarity protection.
